We have prepared a memo with an action plan for passengers who have purchased tickets to Georgia.
1. Don’t worry
Changing plans is always unpleasant, but this does not mean that you have lost money. Both the vacation and the money spent can be saved. Airlines have already taken measures and developed regulations for the return and exchange of tickets – you just need to study them and act according to the rules.
2. Check your departure dates
Ticket refund conditions depend on the dates of departure to Georgia and return to Russia.
Your flight to Georgia and return back — after July 8
There are several options for how you can proceed:
- Return both tickets and receive 100% compensation for their cost as part of an involuntary ticket return.
- Exchange your tickets for new ones the same category, but with earlier departure dates (before 07/08/2019) from/to Georgia without additional charges. This is possible if airlines have available seats on flights before July 8. Not all airlines provide the opportunity to exchange tickets (for example, Pobeda and Red Wings will issue a refund, but will not offer ticket exchange).
- Exchange air tickets and go on vacation to another destination. For example, Aeroflot offers the exchange of tickets for the same category to new destinations (Yerevan, Vladikavkaz, Baku) without additional payments. Not all airlines have this option.
*Currently, these conditions apply to Russian carriers. Information on Georgian airlines is being clarified.
Your flight to Georgia is until July 8, and returning back — after
In this case, the airline rules are similar to those that apply for departures after July 8 (with the exception of SmartAvia flights (code 5N)).
Your flight to Georgia and return return — until July 8 (or ticket purchased only one way)
This means that you have a chance to get into the country and relax as you planned. Until July 8, all airlines will operate flights as scheduled. If you want to exchange or return purchased tickets with a return date before July 8, then a forced ticket return is also possible (except for flights of Pobeda Airlines (code DP) and SmartAvia (code 5N).
For Pobeda airlines (code DP) and SmartAvia (code 5N), changes are possible in accordance with the rules of the fare at which the ticket was purchased.
3. Contact your place of purchase
To issue a return or exchanging a ticket, contact the place where you bought the ticket. They will help you figure out how to issue a ticket refund or they will do it for you.
Our customers can issue a return easily and quickly – go to the “My Order” section on the website or application, click the “return ticket” button, select all the tickets to Georgia that they want to return, indicate the reason “forced return (the airline canceled or rescheduled the flight)”, click on confirmation and enter the four-digit code that will be sent to SMS. Service specialists will coordinate the return of the ticket with the airline, and funds will be returned to the client’s account within 3-30 days after completion of the refund according to the completed application, depending on the client’s bank.
