Holy Trinity Lavra of Sergius
The largest monastery of the Russian Middle Ages and one of the main shrines of modern Russia. The Lavra is several centuries older than Sergiev Posad, and the monastery located here once became the core of the future city. Now it is a magnificent architectural ensemble consisting of 10 churches and more than 50 buildings.

Most of the religious attractions are located on the territory of the Lavra. The monastery is located outside its walls, at some distance, although it is a courtyard of the Lavra. This is the famous estate of the writer S.T. Aksakova. Gogol, Turgenev and Belinsky, Repin, Vasnetsov, Levitan and other artists visited here. Now the museum exhibits 25 thousand objects of art. And on the territory of the estate you can walk among the architecture of the 18th-19th centuries, through the park and enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the Vorya River.
