What to see in Nizhny Novgorod

Before leaving, it is better to decide in advance where to go in Nizhny Novgorod on a business trip. We offer our list of attractions and places that you will definitely enjoy visiting:

Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The main attraction of the city was built in 1515 at the confluence of the Volga and Oka. Today the Kremlin wall stretches for 2 km, and 13 towers rise along the perimeter. There are various buildings, museums and centers on the territory.

Chkalovskaya staircase, which consists of 560 steps, is located next to the Kremlin and connects the Upper Volzhskaya and Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankments. The observation deck offers a beautiful view of Strelka, where the Volga and Oka merge.

Pechersky Ascension Monastery. Also not far from the Kremlin there is a monastery founded in the 14th century. As a result of a landslide, the monastery was destroyed and had to be moved 1 km upstream of the river. The complex that we can admire now is a building from the 17th century.

Nizhne and Verkhne-Volzhskaya embankments. Nizhne-Volzhskaya embankment is laid along the Volga coast. The embankment has driveway and pedestrian zones, as well as bicycle paths. Its length is 3 km. Architectural sights are located along the Verkhne-Volzhskaya embankment.

State Bank Building. A structure that looks more like a fairytale castle is the building of a branch of the State Bank of the city. The interior is made in a palace style, because it was built in 1911 for the 300th anniversary of the Romanovs’ reign.

The sights of Nizhny Novgorod do not end there. If you have some free time on your business trip, we recommend exploring other popular places in the city – museums, monuments, cathedrals, streets and much more.
