In April there is still snow on the ski slopes, but prices have already begun to melt. We have collected for you several resorts where you can close the ski season. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen!
Sochi, “Rosa Khutor”
Weather: +4…+8˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 2,113 rubles*
Ski pass: 1500 rubles per day
April 9 at the Rosa Khutor resort the “Spring Snow” season starts. A ski pass for the whole day will cost only 1,500 rubles versus 2,400-2,700 rubles in high season. But perhaps the main advantage is the empty slopes and hotels. In addition, this is an excellent opportunity to combine a winter holiday with an almost summer one: for warmth you just need to go down to Sochi, where it will already be about +20˚C.
Kirovsk, “BigWood”
Weather: -2…-5˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 8,880 rubles*
Ski pass: 1400 rubles per day
Khibiny is one of the few places where you can ski and snowboard until the end of May. In April it will still be winter-like frosty here, which means excellent skiing is guaranteed. Moreover, the resort is famous for its freeride trails.
Caucasus, “Dombay”
Weather: -2…+5˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 2,045 rubles*
Ski pass: 1700 rubles per day
Dombay is a paradise for extreme sports enthusiasts and everyone who believes that only mountains can be better than mountains. The views from here are breathtaking. By the way, the slopes will make no less an impression on skiers and snowboarders – there are about 20 km of slopes, and the elevation difference is 1538 meters.
Caucasus, Elbrus region
Weather: -1…+3˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 2,045 rubles*
Ski pass: 1600 rubles per day
The ski season in the Elbrus region lasts until April, and in the upper zone of Elbrus you can ski in May. The main slopes are located on the Elbrus and Cheget mountains, and the highest lift reaches a height of 3850 m. In the resorts of the Elbrus region, many boarding houses and recreation centers have remained since Soviet times, so you can easily find budget accommodation. And admiring Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe, is priceless!
Siberia, “Sheregesh”
Weather: 0…+8˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 3,698 rubles*
Ski pass: 1200 rubles per day
Sheregesh is an ideal place for both freeriders and beginners. You can ride through virgin soil in the forest, or you can calmly enjoy high-quality trails that have the FIS standard. By the way, stages of the Russian Alpine Skiing Championship are held here, so both the terrain and the slopes themselves are a solid top five.
Bashkortostan, “Abzakovo”
Weather: -1…+5˚C
Flight from Moscow: from 3,364 rubles*
Ski pass: 1400 rubles per day
Residents of Magnitogorsk have long chosen this ski resort, just 60 km from the city, and after the construction of a modern ski complex a couple of years ago, skiers and snowboarders from all over Russia began to come here. The slopes are mostly gentle and not too difficult: there are no black slopes, 4 red ones, the rest are suitable for those who have been skiing for a while.
