During a long layover at a connecting airport, Wi-Fi can be the only salvation from boredom, but more often than not, a wireless network either severely limits traffic or requires a password. Blogger, traveler and computer security engineer Anil Polat decided to give a gift to tourists from all over the world and developed an interactive map that shows network passwords at many airports on the planet.
Map indicating airports with known wi-fi passwords
On the map, airports are marked with airplane icons. By clicking on the icon, you will receive information about what password you can use to gain access to wi-fi while at this airport. Sometimes instructions for using the network and valuable information about where exactly in the building the strongest signal appears in a pop-up window appear. You can also find out on the map where wi-fi is available without a password or what restrictions there are on downloading.
For example, if at the large international airport Schiphol in Amsterdam you sit down near the KLM lounge, find the Airport_Free_WiFi network and enter the combination “KLM dd.mm.yy” (that is, the current date, for example, KLM 10/17/16) then you can enjoy all the joys of free internet while waiting for your flight.
Information about passwords is constantly updated, and Anil urgently asks everyone who managed to get the treasured password to inform him, and he will enter this data into his card.
