“Sometimes you can be your own best travel companion.” This phrase may sound like twisted fortune cookie wisdom, but it contains some useful advice. Why not take a solo tour, tailored just to your preferences? If you’ve been thinking about going on a solo trip, but fear and uncertainty have stopped you, the following arguments can help you overcome the last obstacles.
1. This makes it easier to plan your trip
Have you ever coordinated a joint vacation with another person or group of people? Typically, problems begin with choosing a departure date. Further – worse! Where will we stay? Where will we eat? Who is responsible for booking excursions? If all this is familiar to you, then you know that traveling in a group is an endless search for compromises. Traveling alone can be a dream vacation because no one will interfere with its planning. You won’t have to match the pace of several people. Would you like to visit 10 museums over the weekend? Please! Do you want to give up making plans altogether? No problem! Let your vacation be spontaneous!
2. Only your interests are taken into account
As we said, traveling with a company comes with compromises. The group may accommodate you in your preferences, but they will also expect the same from you. When traveling alone, you don’t have to participate in such deals and constantly look for like-minded people. You have to do only what brings you pleasure.
3. This will allow you to stay within budget
People have different tastes and views on the quality of recreation. While someone is willing to sacrifice the star of the hotel for an expensive excursion, another person will want to choose both. You can distribute the available funds the way you want.
4. The experience gained will be valuable
Traveling with someone tends to create memories of shared experiences and adventures. Traveling alone will cement itself in your memory as proof of your capabilities. You will be able to concentrate not on the desires and emotions of another person, but on new impressions, attempts to understand an unfamiliar culture.
5. You can become a good traveler
Traveling alone can give you everything you need for this. Namely:
- new knowledge about countries and customs;
- opportunity to improve your photography skills or artistic description of what you see;
- confidence in yourself, your strengths and the ability to overcome fear, becoming independent of circumstances;
- new friends around the world (if you want to) for further tours;
- time to understand your interests and desires, form a hobby and your own style of relaxation.
