Admiralteyskaya Square and embankment

Weekend itinerary: Voronezh

Voronezh is called the cradle of the navy – it was here in the 17th century that Peter I began building his ships. In memory of this, three snow-white arches were installed here, from which rows of low columns extend in both directions. The center of the semicircular square is crowned by a rostral column. It is decorated with the bows of ships, and towards the bottom it turns into an elegant anchor.

Museum ship “Goto Predestination”

Weekend itinerary: Voronezh

This is a historical copy of a Russian ship from the time of Peter I, but this does not make it any less mysterious. The ship was recreated based on surviving drawings and engravings. There is a museum inside. The exhibition is dedicated to the life and military campaigns of sailors of the 18th century. There are coins, weapons, cutlery, a ship’s stove and more. In the cabins there are wax figures in ancient naval uniforms.

Entrance ticket – 200 rubles*.

Puppet Theater “Jester”

Weekend itinerary: Voronezh

The building resembles a fairytale castle. The heroes of the works are located on its columns. We recommend not limiting yourself to a walk around – the interior also looks like an enchanted palace. You might also like the museum – “retired” dolls are on display there.

Entrance to the museum – 20 rubles*.
