Las Galeras is a small area in the northeast of the island. Tourists are not uncommon on the main beach; there are sun loungers and umbrellas, sea tours are organized from here, and you can also rent a mask and fins and swim over the colorful reef. But the most beautiful places are to the side; a short walk along the ocean shore leads to where the only neighbors on the beach are palm trees growing right on the sand and hanging over the bright blue water.

Beaches with pink sand frame the small island of Elafonisi, which is located a hundred meters from the southwestern tip of the island of Crete – thanks to its shallow depth, you can wade to it. The shade of sand on the coast varies from soft pink to purple. This color is given to it by fragments of shells, corals and starfish, and you can see it even through the thickness of the water. There is a gentle slope, shallow depth and no high waves.

Coral Cove is one of them, with golden sand, large rock boulders and the cozy shade of a huge tree right in the middle of the beach.
