Southern directions: not only the sea

Holidays in the south are much more than just a warm sea. And although most of these locations have wonderful embankments and beaches, we have selected interesting activities for you in Anapa, Sochi, Crimea, Rostov-on-Don and Krasnodar that will help diversify your vacation. Explore and fill your summer vacation with bright impressions.

Anapa

How to get there

The cost of round-trip tickets from Moscow is from 6,000 rubles*. You will spend about two hours on the way.

Where to live

We recommend staying at the Albatross hotel complex, which is located 200 meters from the Black Sea coast. A room per night will cost 7200 rubles*.

Things to do

Anapa is considered perhaps the best city for windsurfing and kiteboarding in our country. A good wind can be caught on the Bugaz Spit and in the waters of the Kiziltash Estuary. Diving enthusiasts come to the village of Vityazevo, where they can not only admire the seabed, but also look at sunken ships and planes from the Second World War. The Lion’s Head castle hosts knightly tournaments and master classes in medieval crafts – pottery and blacksmithing, as well as archery. It’s also worth visiting cozy wineries and, of course, swimming in the sea. The most popular beaches are Central and High Bereg, and many children from camps and sanatoriums relax on Pionersky Prospekt.

Sochi

The fastest and most convenient way is by plane. Round-trip tickets from Moscow can be purchased for 4,800 rubles*. The flight will take about two hours.

Sochi has a huge selection of housing for any budget. A good option for a vacation is the three-star Grace Odin Congress Hotel. Price – from 6000 rubles per day*.

Things to do

The most popular beach is Imeretinsky, 4 km long. There are comfortable changing cabins, and among the pebbles there are paid areas with white sand. The Riviera, located next to a cozy green square, is not inferior to it in comfort. When you get bored of sunbathing, head to Skypark to tickle your nerves, where you can jump from the highest bungee platform in Russia, walk across the longest suspended pedestrian bridge in the country, or fly over the Akhshtyrsky Gorge on a Zipline. For vibrant Balinese landscapes, come to the Matsesta tea plantations. Sports lovers should visit the Olympic Park, where you can not only admire the legacy of the famous competitions, but also drive along the Formula 1 track or play curling in the Ice Cube.

Crimea

How to get there

The only airport accepting flights on the peninsula is in Simferopol. You can fly from Moscow in just over two hours. Return tickets will cost from 4800 rubles*.

Stay in Sevastopol: the three-star art hotel “Ukraine” is an excellent option in the very center. Price – from 3600 rubles per night*.

Things to do

On the peninsula, everyone will find a place by the sea and a large number of other activities to their liking. Evpatoria and Olenevka are ideal for a family holiday with children. For entertainment and developed infrastructure, you should go to Yalta, Sevastopol and Feodosia, and for picturesque nature and active tourism, go to the South Coast. While traveling in Crimea, it is worth not only climbing Ai-Petri, but also walking along one of the most picturesque, but at the same time easy routes of the mountain – the Taraktash trail.

If you have long dreamed of doing rope jumping (jumping on climbing ropes from high objects), then on the peninsula there are several natural points just for beginners, for example, Cape Fiolent and Ilyas-Kaya. And, of course, a rare trip here is complete without tasting local wines. Large farms – the Inkerman plant, Massandra and Novy Svet – often organize production tours, where guests are treated to their best products.

To get around the peninsula, we recommend renting a car. Renting a car at Simferopol airport on OneTwoTrip will cost 2,500 rubles per day*.

Rostov-on-Don

Southern directions: not only the sea

How to get there

The flight from Moscow to Rostov-on-Don takes just under two hours. The cost of round-trip tickets is from 5700 rubles*.

Where to live

To take walks around the historical center of the city, stay at the Hermitage Hotel – the central streets with many shops and cafes are nearby. The room will cost 2400 rubles per night per person*.

Things to do

You can arrange a wine tour in the Don Valley. “Vedernikov Wineries”, Vinabani, “Tsimlyansky Wines” – all these farms are engaged in the production of a noble drink in the region, including from autochthonous grape varieties. And here you can take a walk around Nakhichevan – an ancient corner of Transcaucasia, which only a hundred years ago became a colorful district of Rostov.

The Sea of Azov can be easily reached by car in about an hour. But in the city itself there are many recreation areas. For example, Druzhba Beach, Green Island and Salt Lake – in summer, high waves appear on it and you get the feeling that you are already on the seashore.

What to do withi

It’s hard to imagine a trip to Krasnodar without visiting the park of the same name, which is considered one of the best in Russia. There are often outdoor concerts here, a climbing wall, a skate area and benches inside an artificial waterfall where you can hide from the heat. One of the main attractions of Kuban is the wineries, which invite you to tours and tastings. We recommend visiting Sober Bash – less than an hour’s journey from the center. But to get to “Abrau-Durso” and “Chateau-Taman” you will have to travel several hours.

You can take a short trip to Goryachiy Klyuch, where three attractions are collected at once: Bogatyrsky Caves, Dante’s Gorge and Mirror Rock. The closest sea to Krasnodar is the Black Sea, located at a distance of 90 km. The second most distant is Azovskoe, which is 145 km away.

Getting to the destinations described in the article has become easier! Aeroflot airline launched direct flights to the south from 15 Russian cities, including Kazan, Samara, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm and Ufa.
