The South Korean island of Jeju, with its beautiful landscapes and pleasant maritime climate, is beloved by tourists and traditionally hosts newlyweds during their honeymoon. It is not surprising that this is where the unusual “Land of Love” park appeared, where sculptures of people in very piquant poses are located in the open air. The purpose of creating the park is educational: since until recently, most marriages in Korea were concluded at the will of the parents, and the spouses got to know each other (including intimate ones) during the honeymoon, it was believed that they needed to be told what was what . Some sculptural groups are frozen like illustrations for the Kama Sutra – and there is something to learn from them, others are interactive – visitors can play with these dolls. The cinema at the park shows educational films, and in the evenings in the “Land of Love” the lights are turned on, which adds even more eroticism to everything that happens. There are 140 sculptures collected here, and the plots of many of them are far from traditional ideas about marriage: the number of participants clearly exceeds the required number.
