“Sandunovskie Baths” in Moscow
The most famous public steam room in the capital has been operating for more than 200 years. Located in the very center of Moscow near the Kuznetsky Most metro station. It’s worth coming here just for the luxurious interior alone; on Tuesdays, Sanduny even offers group excursions. And the pairs got their name from the name of the founder, Sandunov Sila Nikolaevich, a famous actor-comedian of Catherine’s era.
The bathhouse building is an architectural monument built in the bozar style. The interiors of the halls and steam rooms are decorated with stucco, marble columns and gilding. In addition to public men’s and women’s halls, there is a spa area and separate private baths, where small groups or families can relax. There are several pompous rooms to choose from, for example, a Gothic room with wooden carvings or a Turkish room with ceiling paintings and stucco.

“Lantern Baths” in St. Petersburg
In 2021, after a large-scale reconstruction, one of the oldest bath complexes in Russia opened, which has been welcoming St. Petersburg residents and guests of the northern capital for 150 years. “Lantern Baths” are located in a beautiful location on the embankment of the Moika River, a few blocks from St. Isaac’s Cathedral.
After restoration, the interior of the ancient baths was updated and the historical stoves and fireplace, elements of architecture and decor were restored, and for the convenience of guests, male and female classes were located in a new way. YOLLA Bath Club in the Leningrad Region
Among the beautiful natural landscapes, far from the bustle of the city, the central building of the bathhouse immediately catches your eye. The Kelo pine log house is built in Scandinavian country style – a sophisticated combination of modern aesthetics and ancient traditions. Mountain baths “4 elements” in Sochi
Clean mountain air, views of the Main Caucasus Range and an altitude of 960 meters above sea level. All this came together in one bathhouse complex “4 Elements” in the very heart of Krasnaya Polyana. The name is not accidental and is associated with four natural elements, each of which symbolizes its own style of steaming – Fire (Russian steam room), Water (Turkish hammam), Air (Alpine bath) and Earth (mazanka steam room).

Sauna complex “Hot Keys” in Suzdal
On the banks of the Klyuchenitsa River, 12 log buildings were built in the traditional Russian style. The interior and steam area of each bathhouse are decorated differently. For example, in the salt bath there is a wall-panel made of Himalayan salt for natural inhalation, and in the taiga bath there is an oak font, and the walls are decorated with wood from northern species. All houses have their own territory and a separate access to the river, where they swim in the summer and dive into the icy ice hole in the winter.

Bath-museum “Kirkhlar Hammam” in Derbent
Right in the middle of the ancient city, a 17th-century hammam has been restored and is welcoming guests. This is the only functioning ancient bathhouse in Derbent, located in an architectural monument opposite the mosque named after. Abulfazil-Abbas and next to the fortress gates of Kirkhlyar Kapa. Where else if not here can you feel the atmosphere of the east?
In “Kirkhlar Hammam” the historical appearance of the bathhouse has been preserved as much as possible: it’s as if you’re steaming in a real mini-museum. A small fountain in the guest area, bright carpets with patterns and low tables served with traditional oriental armoud glasses and an abundance of different treats. In the center of the steam room there is a round patterned stone bed, and behind the walls there is a salt room, aroma sauna and massage rooms. Individual bathhouse with hourly rental, the optimal number of guests is up to 10 people.

Soloma bath complex in Kazan
The only adobe bathhouse complex in Tatarstan and the largest in Russia is located near the Kazan airport. It was built using modern technology using environmentally friendly finishing, which creates a natural microclimate. The walls have panels with pressed straw and clay plaster. The designer interior and the comfort of the premises are thought out to the smallest detail – a living room with a fireplace, a soft area and a large table, a spa area with steam rooms, a hammam and showers, and a plunge pool and a vat on the terrace.

An unusual Russian steam room with a spa area is located on the roof of a 9-story building.
