In the “Cudablin” project, we send completely different people on trips at our expense! Konstantin Sopyrkin visited Crimea: he climbed the famous Ai-Petri Mountain and wandered in the clouds, saw the Vorontsov Palace – the most beautiful castle on the Crimean peninsula and found Crimean waterfalls. Over the course of this weekend, I’ll be hitting the shutter a thousand times, trading at the market, and taking 20 selfies with blondes!
- In the morning I tried on the role of a market trader, and at the same time I realized that I was no trader. For about 40 minutes I could not sell anything from my backpack even for 1 ruble!!! But in the end everything worked out, and the task was completed.
- Having earned money, I went to the pearl of Yalta, Mount Ai-Petri! Of all the mountains I’ve been to, this is perhaps the most beautiful.
But I’ll tell you about her later! Breakfast has arrived at the breakfast counter, the coffee has been drunk, and I’m ready to hit the road.

Useful information.
There are 4 ways to climb the mountain:
- By cable car, one way price 350 rub.
- On your own by car, 23 kilometers along a serpentine road (250 turns).
- On foot, there are hiking trails (ascent 2-3 hours/descent 2 hours at a moderate pace).
- Use the services of local “guides” who will take you to the top in a minibus for 350 rubles, along the way telling you the history of the mountain mixed with anecdotes, and will also take you to key tourist spots.

- Wuchang-Su Waterfall
- Silver gazebo
- Turtle Lake (fire reservoir)
- Observation deck at the top of Ai-Petri
My choice fell on the ascent with a guide and the descent on foot, and this was extremely correct.
Impressions:
— There is a strong wind on the plateau, which is why it is covered with trees that look like the scribbles of dreams). The weather changes every minute (video shot on 5S, interval lasting 5 minutes). The descent on foot allows you to “feel” the mountain. Along the entire path you will be surrounded by a forest with giant trees, yellow ferns and burgundy bushes.
— Ai-Petri is beautiful in autumn.
It’s a mountain, but completing the task (taking 20 selfies with blondes) is extremely difficult here. Why don’t blondes live in the mountains?

The second point of my trip was the Vorontsov Palace, which is one of the most striking attractions of Crimea.
The palace was erected in 1828-1848 according to the design of one of the best English architects, for the Governor-General of the Novorossiysk Territory, Count M.S. Vorontsov. A masterpiece of creative imagination is the South façade, which combines eastern and western architecture.
The palace is one of the most visited in the world, and unconditionally takes first place in the ranking of the best palaces on the Crimean Peninsula. The cost of visiting the main exhibition is 300 rubles. It’s worth setting aside a separate day to visit the palace, because… In addition to the internal exhibitions, you should also visit the park.
The extensive use of wood, portraits of the owners and those close to them, and the practicality of the layout make the Vorontsov Palace so warm. Being here you don’t feel “small”. There is a desire to wake up, see the sea while walking through the winter garden and take care of gubernatorial affairs.
In conclusion:
- If at the beginning of the trip I was thinking “what to visit?”, then at the end I was wondering “how to have time to visit everything?”.
During these 2 days I managed to visit the clouds of Ai-Petri and enjoy the gardens of the Vorontsov Palace. And there is still so much left… - Yalta is a really good start to exploring Crimea.
