For many parents vacationing with children, the question always remains relevant: how to spend the holidays so that both the adult and the child have fun? Fortunately, the answer has long been found – go to a water park! However, a water park is unlikely to be the only purpose of a vacation: no matter how good the slides and water attractions are, it will be difficult to ride them for two weeks in a row. That’s why we’ve selected six water parks that would be interesting on their own or could be a stopover on your itinerary.
Ocean Dome (Shigaya, Japan)
This water park is not only one of the best, but also the largest in the world. It can accommodate ten thousand people at a time, and the temperature here never drops below 30 degrees. Here you will find not just slides with steep turns, but a whole artificial world in which almost all types of outdoor recreation are created. There is a sea with a beach, and an artificial wave for surfers, and all kinds of attractions, spa complexes, swimming pools, hydromassages and even a real forest. Above all this luxury there is a gigantic dome, which, moreover, extends during the daytime. From above, the water park resembles a structure from a parallel universe, but when you get inside, it will seem to you that you are on the real ocean shore.
Wild Wadi (Dubai, UAE)
The rich, fashionable resort also has a water park of the same type and quality. Wild Wadi (translated as “mountain river”) is located between the most expensive hotels in the city, and their guests, of course, have free admission. There are unique attractions that you will not find anywhere else in the world. For example, a slide with the feeling of free fall. First, the water pushes you more than twenty meters up, and then you fall into a special tunnel, where you can accelerate to eighty kilometers per hour. There are also artificial waves for surfing, the largest in the world. It is curious that the entire water park is decorated in the style of the fairy tale about Sinbad the Sailor, which gives it even more color and excitement for both adults and children.
Wet and Wild (Gold Coast, Australia)
Australia’s largest water park welcomes several million tourists every year. Numerous slides, swimming pools and an interesting sector for children are not without reason of such great interest among tourists, because the attractions belong to the famous company Warner Brothers. The most popular attraction is intriguingly called “Kamikaze”. You simply float on a small inflatable raft, and at a certain moment a special installation begins to release artificial waves, turning your raft into a ship sinking during a storm: it skids, twists and turns with enormous force.
As usual, there is a separate area for children. Children can feel like real invaders of the seas, because the area for kids with exciting slides is decorated in an unusual pirate style.
Tropical Islands (Berlin, Germany)
Just 70 kilometers from Berlin is the largest and most interesting water park in Europe. The building it occupies was once a factory for the production of airships. There is a huge spa complex with services for every taste: there is a Russian bath, a hammam, all kinds of saunas, jacuzzi and hydromassage pools. In addition to steep and mesmerizing slides, there is also an impressively sized artificial beach, as well as a small forest. Well, when you get tired of swimming and riding slides, you can go to one of the many restaurants. They are here for every taste: German, Thai, Italian, Indian and other cuisines, as well as a vegetarian cafe. Fans of nightlife can stay at the water park in the evening and enjoy a music show.
Chimlong (Guangzhou, China)
The fifth largest in the world and the first in Asia, this water park causes wild delight among all vacationers. For children, there is a whole children’s city with special slides, and adults will be pleased with the wide selection of attractions for every taste. Something unusual can be called the “Hippopotamus Mouth” slide – this is a long river along which you can slowly drift through various obstacles in the form of a room of ice, waterfalls and powerful waves. In addition, the water park has a dance floor where circus acts and musicians constantly perform.
Sunway Lagoon (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
This wonderful place with six tons of real ocean sand brought from the coast is not limited to just one water park. This is a whole complex with restaurants, bars, shops and an ice skating rink. The park itself consists of two zones: one with slow and non-scary rides, and the other for lovers of active entertainment and extreme sports. In the middle of the bulk beach there are bungalows and palm trees planted, which form a secluded corner for lovers of a quiet and leisurely holiday. Fans of water sports will also like it here, because the artificial waves in the huge pool reach three meters, which allows you to surf without any problems.
