How to get to the city
By plane. The fastest way to get to Kazan is by plane. This option is chosen by the majority, since Kazan International Airport can be reached from many Russian cities. You can fly from Moscow in 1 hour 30 minutes, from St. Petersburg – in 2 hours.
The airport is located 21 km from the city center, you can get there by train or bus.
By train. You can get from Moscow to Kazan in 11-14 hours, depending on the train. Trains leave from Kazansky station in Moscow. You can get there from St. Petersburg in 22 hours, departure from Moskovsky station.
Kazan can also be reached from other Russian cities, since the city is a major railway junction.
By bus or car. You can get from Moscow to Kazan in another convenient way – by bus in 14 hours.
You can also get to Kazan from Moscow by car along the M-7 Volga highway. You will spend about 15 hours on the trip. From St. Petersburg you can get there via Moscow in about 22 hours.
