The estate in Bolshiye Vyazemy is part of the historical and literary museum-reserve of A.S. Pushkin. During the reign of Boris Godunov, there was a royal wooden palace here. Later the estate passed to False Dmitry I and then to the Romanovs. In 1694, Tsar Peter Alekseevich gave the lands to his tutor Boris Golitsyn. In the 18th century, the Golitsyns laid out a park and built an estate.
During the War of 1812, there was some curiosity. 3 days after the Battle of Borodino, Mikhail Kutuzov and his headquarters settled in the estate. And a day later, Napoleon Bonaparte, the French emperor, was already sleeping on his sofa.
In neighboring Zakharov, the Hannibal estate, Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin spent his childhood. Researchers of his work claim that it was Bolshiye Vyazyomy that became the prototype for the estate of Eugene Onegin in the novel of the same name.

The estate is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 17.00. The last Friday of the month is a day off.

How to get there
- At the Belorussky railway station, take the train to the Golitsyno station. Then change to bus No. 38 or No. 50. You need to get off at the “Institute” stop. Also suitable for you are minibuses No. 38, No. 79 and No. 1055;

The Muranovo estate is located 50 kilometers from Moscow. The exhibition at the museum-reserve tells about the life of the Russian nobility in the 19th century. The basis of the exhibition is a complex of old buildings and a collection of personal belongings of the Russian poet and diplomat Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev. The exhibition was put together by the poet’s son. He lived in Muranovo with his family.
The estate’s collections contain 28 thousand exhibits. In addition to visiting the museum, in Muranovo you can take a walk in the park and visit folk art festivals.

The estate is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 to 18.00 (closes an hour earlier on Tuesday). The ticket office is open only until 16.30. Every last Friday of the month is a day off.

How to get there

The estate is located 60 kilometers from Moscow. Its most famous owners were the writer Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov (author of “The Scarlet Flower”) and the entrepreneur Savva Ivanovich Mamontov.
Over the years, Ivan Turgenev, Nikolai Gogol, Ivan Repin, Vasily Surikov, Fyodor Chaliapin and other famous contemporaries stayed here.
On the territory of the estate you can see architectural monuments of the 18th and 19th centuries, take a walk in the picturesque park and visit an exhibition dedicated to the life of the former owners of the estate. The 25,000-item collection includes old photographs, paintings, sculptures, drawings, books and folk art.
Working time
Closed days: Monday and Tuesday. Only the park is open at this time. On other days the museum is open from 10.00 to 18.00. Tickets are sold at the box office until 17.30. Please note: entry to the main manor house is only possible with a guided tour.

How to get there
- At the Yaroslavsky station, take the train and get to the Khotkovo stop. From the station to the main entrance to the estate there is a bus and minibus No. 55;
- If you are traveling by car, then move along the Yaroslavskoe highway until the exit from the road to Leshkovo and Radonezh. Then, having reached Khotkovo, turn to Abramtsevo. This will take you to the main entrance.
