Slovenia, despite its modest size, is a country that can easily satisfy a wide variety of tastes. It is so diverse that everyone will find something here that they love and are close in spirit.

Slovenia for naturalists
It would be unfair to consider that lakes Bled and Bohinj, despite all their greatness and splendor, are the only natural attractions of the country. Slovenia has saved many trump cards for connoisseurs of natural beauty.
How about going down to Postojska Jama Cave? This miracle of Slovenia, located in the park of the same name, near the city of Postojna, is about 70 million years old. During the tour you will see stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes, colors and sizes. In just over an hour you can cover a five-kilometer route. Dress warmly – at any time of the year the air temperature in the cave does not exceed ten degrees. From May to October, excursions to the cave take place every hour.
Not far from Lake Bohinj, the Slovenian Savica waterfall roars. More precisely, these are two waterfalls, together forming something like the letter “A”. You can admire Savica in all its grandeur from an artificial dam or a stone bridge. The waterfall is easily accessible both by car and on foot.
In Triglav National Park in the city of Kobarid, be sure to find the rock called “Bear Rock” head”. This is a huge stone that once broke off from the mountain, resembling the head of a bear. You can cross the Zadlacica River on the stone, like on a bridge.
For art lovers
Slovenian Philharmonic– the place where music lovers should definitely go. By the way, this is one of the oldest philharmonic societies in the world. Our great compatriot Mstislav Rostropovich once performed here. In addition to concerts, art and other exhibitions are regularly held here. Between 1992 and 2004, the Slovenian Philharmonic could also be seen on 200 tolar banknotes.
If you are a connoisseur of modern art, then take a look at the Metelkov Museum. Previously, the museum building served as barracks for the People’s Yugoslav Army, and today it houses a library, restoration workshops and archives of the museum itself . Among the works are paintings by Russian artists: Kupriyanov, Zvezdochetov, Monastyrsky and Komar.
And for the theater, go to Ptuj. It is in this place that “City Theatre” is located, created back in the 18th century. The auditorium has a capacity of 230 seats. Up to six new performances are staged here every year. For children, puppet shows are performed here, for which this theater is so famous.
For lovers of ancient architecture
Monastery in Olimiais a majestic castle in the Renaissance style surrounded by a moat, known since the 11th century. The attention of tourists is especially attracted by the unusual decorative elements that adorn the building in abundance. There is a monastery here, as well as an ancient pharmacy founded by monks in the mid-18th century, the products of which can be purchased after visiting the castle.
Have you ever seen a swallow’s nest? Predjama Castle, located near the Postojna Jama cave, is very similar in appearance to the home of this bird. The castle is 123 meters high as if carved out of a cliff. After visiting here, check out the exhibition dedicated to the last owner, and then take a walk through the dungeon and labyrinths of the castle.
For romantics
Vipava city,standing on the river of the same name, it will delight you with its bright architecture and a large number of bridges. There are about thirty of them in the city. Take a look at the ancient cemetery, which will surprise you with an ancient Egyptian tomb located on its territory.

Where else can you go for romance and beauty? Of course, to Lipitsa, where the world-famous Lipitsa stud farm is located.
The peculiarity of Lipitsa horses is that they are born black and gradually turn into snow-white. The breed was developed in the 16th century by Archduke Charles II of the Habsburg dynasty. These graceful horses are not tall, but how graceful they are in the horse show!
For gourmets
You can try dishes of Slovenian cuisine in perhaps the best version in restaurant on a high cliff, right inside the ancient Bled Castle. Be sure to order traditional sausages with sauerkraut, rolls with nut filling and the famous Slovenian dessert “Kremsnita”.
Love wine? Then you should be Koglo wine cellars in Šmarješki Toplice, store the best collectibles.
What about beer? In the famous Haler Brewery town Terme Olimia, you can see how the brewing process and taste local beers combined with a hearty lunch. There is also a museum attached to the brewery.

Bled Golf Club is considered one of the best and oldest in Europe. Tournaments and competitions take place here from the beginning of spring to the end of autumn. The club will be equally interesting for both beginners and experienced players.
Cycling enthusiasts will undoubtedly enjoy Kranjska Gora Park. In winter it functions as a ski resort and in summer as a bicycle park. The park operates an extreme skiing school and hosts various competitions. There are three trails in the park of varying difficulty levels.
