We at OneTwoTrip love to travel, and in many ways this helps make our service better every day. Here are 6 tips based on our staff’s experience on how to make your trips brighter, cheaper and safer.
1. Ratings and reviews
Reviews are easy to buy or write. On every more or less large resource, you will most likely find a lot of custom reviews, which are often difficult to distinguish from the real experience of real people. For example, the hotel itself may order positive reviews, while its competitors may order negative and even misleading reviews. Therefore, we advise you not to draw conclusions based on individual reviews, but to look at the overall rating (usually indicated as a rating on a 5 or 10-point scale).
So, when choosing a hotel, set the rating filter to “8 points and above”, and you will increase your chances of finding a really good and profitable place. And when buying an air ticket, pay attention to the flight rating, it is calculated based on data on the age and type of aircraft, the percentage of delays and cancellations.
2. Credit and debit cards
Ideally, put the card in a hotel safe and don’t carry it with you: today, many places accept payments through Apple Pay and similar ones. If you still prefer to have the card with you, try not to give it to waiters or sellers and do not lose sight of it.
If possible, turn on 3DS – confirmation of transactions using a code from SMS. This can be done through many bank apps or by calling your bank by phone.
And most importantly, write down the bank’s long-distance support phone number so that you can immediately block the card if it is stolen or lost.
3. Prices
If you are looking for cheap tickets, remember one rule: the closer to departure, the higher the price. Air ticket prices, as a rule, do not get lower, because experienced travelers buy up the cheapest classes and categories at the very beginning of the sale. So as soon as you decide that you are definitely going, buy a ticket and book a hotel.
When in doubt, buy refundable tickets, and for non-refundable tickets, use OneTwoTrip’s refundable package. With this service, if you cancel your trip, you will get 90% of the amount back.
Most hotel room reservations can be canceled free of charge, but only up to a certain point – pay attention to the date, this is not always the day before check-in.
4. Bonuses from all purchases
If you travel frequently, it’s worth getting a travel credit or debit card. Using it, you will receive bonuses for any purchases, which you can spend without restrictions on your choice on tickets, hotels and car rentals – in essence, this is cashback for travel. Usually you can easily save up for a couple of trips in a year.
5. Communication
Get yourself a second phone with a SIM card for the region where you often visit. On the spot, choose a tariff with inexpensive Internet to be able to communicate via Skype and instant messengers and not spend money on calls (and also publish photos on Instagram☺)
6. Follow your dreams;)
Travel more often! Traveling makes your life brighter and richer, and it is these moments that are usually remembered. Think over your budget, think about using travel cards, buying tickets and hotels in advance. And perhaps you will realize that you can make an additional trip in 2017, and not to the same place where you have already vacationed 3 times. And we will try to do everything so that in 2018 you can make two or more additional trips.
Have a great trip!
