The history of British Airways began in 1924 with the formation of Imperial Airways. In 1939 it was nationalized and merged with British Airways LTD, formed in 1935. The new company was named British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC),

Service classes

On long-haul routes, British Airways offers three to four passenger service options – World Traveler (economy class) is always present,
World Traveler Plus (premium economy class) and Club World (business class),
and on Boeing 747, 787 and most Boeing 777 and Aerobus A380 – additionally first class. The Moscow-London route uses long-haul aircraft, including the latest Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

British Airways offers an exclusive AirPortr baggage delivery service straight from home, where a specialist travels to any London address, collects your luggage, checks and packs it on your doorstep, then takes it to the airport, checks it in and then loads it onto the plane along with other passengers’ luggage. . Economy class
Passengers traveling in economy class have free seat selection at check-in and up to two pieces of hand luggage weighing up to 23 kg. Premium Economy Class
Improved economy class implies the same service conditions as the previous class, but differs in an increased free baggage allowance (up to two pieces weighing up to 23 kg each),
priority boarding service, which allows you to board before economy class passengers, and personalized service. In addition, the updated cabins of this class have fewer rows, and the seats have wider, comfortable seats with additional legroom and a multimedia screen. Passengers will be offered noise-canceling headphones. There is an electrical outlet for charging your laptop.
In Premium Economy Class you are allowed two pieces of hand luggage (one standard size piece plus a laptop or handbag),
plus two pieces of checked baggage – double the usual amount in economy class.
Meals include a main (hot) course from the business class menu, salad and drinks from the economy class menu.
Business class
In addition to the features of economy class, business class passengers can count on improved conditions for a comfortable travel: check-in for the flight at a dedicated counter, up to two pieces of checked baggage weighing up to 32 kg each, a waiting area in the business lounge lounge with Wi-Fi and priority boarding.
On board, the long-haul passenger is assigned a personalized Club World seat with personal space in a secluded cabin. After a full meal, you can fold the seat into a full-size bed. A comfortable sleep during the flight will be ensured by bedding products produced by the famous British lifestyle company The White Company, including a quilted mattress, pillow and duvet, and a travel kit with Elemis skin care products and accessories.
In addition to flights from Heathrow and Gatwick, there are flights between London City Airport and New York. You can watch movies on a screen enlarged to 15 inches using noise-cancelling headphones. An RCA connector and a USB port are provided to connect a laptop, iPod or digital camera to the screen.
Before the flight, passengers will be given a Liberty London cosmetic kit, and then will be offered a full restaurant service with breakfast, lunch and dinner, traditional English afternoon tea, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Meals on board
British Airways is making a multi-million pound investment to improve food options for economy class passengers on long-haul routes. Starting January 17, a new four-course main menu is available, plus appetizers or Magnum ice cream as a second meal.
In economy class on domestic and European flights departing from Heathrow and Gatwick airports, British Airways offers in-flight meals created in collaboration with the famous British brand Marks & Spencer. Passengers can choose between a variety of meals, including vegetarian, gluten-free and diet options, all costing less than £5. Executive Club members can use Avios to pay for food and drinks.
Premium Economy Class passengers will be offered a delicious menu during the flight, and selected dishes will be served on porcelain dishes with linen napkins.
New champagnes are available to first and business class passengers – Gusbourne, English Sparkling Wine, Lanson Rosé Champagne and Canard-Duchêne Cuvee Léonie Brut Champagne, Champagne Besserat de Bellefon Rosé respectively.
