Why do people travel? To break out of the usual rhythm and plunge into a completely new atmosphere, to visit places where you have never been, or to revisit your favorite places. The aesthetic component of travel is also very important: we all want to admire the beauty of this world. And, of course, take pictures of it and share it with friends. Every day, people from all over the world upload more than 52 million photos to Instagram, and thanks to geolocation tags, you can find out which places are the most popular. Why? If millions of people can’t resist posting photos, then each of these places really has something special.

At the end of last month, the press service of Instagram published a list of the 10 most popular locations marked in the application in 2017.

1. Disneyland, California, USA

There is no person in the world who would not experience the delight of finding himself in a fairy tale, and at Disneyland you feel exactly like that. Magic castles, cartoon characters and big smiles from adults and children alike – these are the photos from Disneyland, the place that was tagged the most times on Instagram this year.

2. Times Square, New York, USA

You can’t visit New York without posting a photo from Times Square, the most photographed square in the world.

3. Central Park, New York, USA

A well-kept park in the center of the concrete jungle of a modern metropolis looks like an oasis at any time of the year: in summer it is green and fresh, and in winter the white snow shines in the sparkle of thousands of lights.

4. Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

For the fourth time, one of the most romantic places in the world is on this list. You can, of course, try to look at the city and the tower with an open mind, but it is much more pleasant to succumb to the general mood and feel the love in the air.

5. Disneyland, Tokyo, Japan

The first Disneyland built outside of the United States, it is the first and only Asian location on this list. When a fairy tale comes to life, it’s so difficult to resist trying to “stop” this moment and share it with friends.

6. Disney’s Magic Kingdom, Orlando, USA

Wow! Of the millions (and more) places on Earth, the parks where Disney cartoon characters live have resonated with people so much that three of them are included in the top 10 list.

7. Louvre, Paris, France

The famous museum is good not only for its collection, but also for its exterior – the shining glass pyramid on the square in front of the ancient royal palace opens up space for creativity. Who here wouldn’t try to make an original shot?

9. Brooklyn Bridge, New York, USA

It’s hard to say which photos are more on Instagram: those taken on the bridge or those where it can be seen in all its glory from the side. The main thing is that they all look cool from any angle and in any lighting. If you don’t believe me, just look at the geotag.

10. Las Vegas, USA

Take a photo in front of the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower at the same time? Easy! Las Vegas has everything, this city is full of every imaginable color around the clock, music is always playing here, glasses are full, and time flies faster than anywhere else. It’s amazing how so many people manage to take out their phones and take a photo.
